Description
This material has been designed to help kids whose mother tongue is different from English to learn basic vocabulary related to fruits, vegetables, food, beverages and desserts in English. Besides, students may be introduced to knowledge related to determiners a, an and some to determine when a certain type of food is countable or uncountable. The material is ideal for kids among 4 to 6 years old. They will be able to develop reading and writing skills.
You can use this material to design at least eight 45-minute classes:
- Two classes may be dedicated to teach basic vocabulary about fruits
- Two classes may be dedicated to teach basic vocabulary related to vegetables
- Two classes may be dedicated to teach basic vocabulary related to fast food, and
- Two classes may be dedicated to teach basic vocabulary related to beverages and desserts.
List of basic vocabulary used in this lesson:
apple, coconut, banana, pineapple, lemon, lime, orange, grapes, watermelon, pear, mango, rice, beans, peas, onion, tomato, carrot, potato, lettuce, avocado, meat, fish, egg, chicken, burger, fries, bread, sausage, lemonade, juice, water, milk, candies, chocolate, cake and ice cream.
